A guide to basic handwriting expectations at Seahouses Primary School

One for the parents... If you're unsure of the expectations for basic handwriting and how we discuss it in school have a look at this video. In it, I cover simple techniques and some terminology such as ascenders, descenders, ensuring our letters are on the line and capital letters. If children aren't practising every day then they can loose the fluency required to write longer extracts. Please encourage your to write for pleasure, update their lockdown diaries, perhaps correspond with family via letters.
